The young Egyptian artist Ruby revealed that she did not receive any offer to star in the Ramadan guessing game show “Fawazir Ramadan”, She said that she heard the news of her being nominated from friends, because she doesn’t read the newspapers on a daily bases.

On the other hand, Ruby stated that she doesn’t mind starring in a “Fawazir” show as long as it has all the right elements to be a successful project.

Young Egyptian singer Ruby has sung her own version of the famous song “Rimsh Al Ein” (Eyelashes).

According to the London daily Elaph, the late Egyptian singer Muhram Douad originally sang the song 50-years ago for his first film “Hasan Wa Naimah.” The film as a great success, and paved the way for his stardom.

Ruby just completed a music video clip for her newest song “Ya Lilrimoosh” (Oh for Eyelashes), written by the young poet Muhammad Jomah, composed by Muhammad Rahim and distributed by Tamin. Rubi worked for the first time with the director Ahmad Al Mahdi on the clip.

She has stopped working with the famous director Sharif Sabri who discovered her. The budget for the clip was set at US$150,000.

Poet Muhammad Jomah was pleased to work with Rubi for the first time. She has a beautiful sense of feeling toward her music, said Jomah. He also said that she has great vision and experience which made her choose songs that would give a different image of her new album.

The new clip is more conservative than Rubi’s previous clips, said Jomah.

The famous Egyptian actor Mahmoud Yasin asked director Muhammad Yasin not to have the famous Egyptian artist Ruby appear in any nude scenes in the film “Al Waed” (The Promise).

Mahmoud is afraid that any outrageous scenes in the film, in which he has the leading role, might damage his image and tarnish his name.

Egyptian actor Mahmoud Abed Al Aziz had the same concerns about an earlier film.

Ruby denied the allegations.

“Al Waed” was written by Wahid Hamed and was filmed in Morocco. A Moroccan production company owned by director Nabil Ayoush and Muhammad Mizan, produced the Egyptian film.

Several Moroccan newspapers accused the film makers of disparaging the image Moroccan woman, claiming several female actors looked like ‘prostitutes’ in the film.

The female actors revealed that they were asked to wear revealing clothing.
Several reports accused director Muhammad Yasin of casting women under 18-years old in the film.

The scenes in question were filmed in Tanjaa – Morocco when the leading star of the film runs away to Morocco to hide. He meets a prostitute at his hotel and she helps him by hiding him at her house.

Yasin said the image of Moroccan women image has not been damaged.
“The role of the prostitute was played by an Egyptian actor, and that doesn’t mean that all Egyptian women are prostitutes,” said Yasin.

Director Sharif Sabri, business manager of Egyptian singer Roubi, has denied recent circulating rumors that the singer filmed her recent music video “Misheet Wara Ihsasi” (I followed my instinct) in her undergarments.

Sharif stated that such rumors are ridiculous and the singer would not be filmed in such a manner. He added that once the clip is released, it will prove that the singer had worn normal cloths, which she had purchased from London.

The director also denied other rumors regarding Ruby’s resignation and her wearing of the Islamic headdress Hijab. Photos were circulated on number of internet sites and several newspapers of the singer wearing the Hijab. What had added to the rumor was Ruby’s disappearance from the spotlight in the past few weeks and the delay of her album, which was previously scheduled for release at the beginning of the new year.

Sharif stated that the pictures of Ruby wearing the Hijab are mere fabrications.

Ruby will be returning to the scenes after a year long absence with the release of her new album “Misheet Wara Ihsasi” (I Followed my Instinct). The album features eight songs in both oriental and western styles.

On a different note, Ruby was shocked when she was forbidden to enter her high school, where she had graduated. The singer was not allowed to enter the premises of the school and the entire staff refused to welcome her in after she had requested to meet the students and chat with them.

Ruby wanted to talk to the students, who were all females, about her experience at the school and her career as a singer. The principal of the school told the singer that she is not welcomed and she did not want her to talk to the students of fear that she will influence them in a negative way.

The principal stated that ruby is a bad role model for the girls and the music she presents along with the video clips she releases are demeaning and inappropriate.

The singer was surprised at the principal’s reaction due to the fact that she had previously visited the school on numerous occasions and performed to the students.

The Egyptian Musician Union recently decided to eliminate Ruby from the Union. The singer’s membership was cancelled along with a number of singers who were considered unfit.

The singer had gone through numerous obstacles to become a member of the Union and had paid high fees.
